It is the end of an era as The Flash’s final run has been completed after nine seasons, comprising over 180 episodes, half a dozen major network crossovers, and countless encounters with rogues. Along with it, the current incarnation of the DC TV universe as we know it has most likely been wrapped up. Despite the shortcomings of the show’s shortened final season, such as the introduction of a third Snow sister instead of providing Caitlin with a proper storyline, an excessive focus on Cecile, and the awkwardness of the “Chellegra” romance, the four-part series finale titled “A New World” made an attempt to bring The Flash’s story full circle. This was achieved by resurrecting Eddie Thawne, portrayed by Rick Cosnett, and employing him to restore balance to the Speed Force, showcasing the birth of Nora, the daughter of Barry and Iris, and expanding the world of Central City speedsters to include beloved comic characters Avery Ho, Jess Chambers, and Max Mercury.
In the series finale, the portrayal of the Arrowverse’s greatest villain one last time is discussed by Tom Cavanagh, who plays a significant role in The Flash.
